Community Chapel Hendersonville July 2016

Community Chapel Hendersonville from North Carolina arrived July 19th.  They wanted to cook here at the ranch and we were extremely blessed by such wonderful meals all week!  When we arrived everyone went right to work cooking breakfast and looking over the work we had for them.  The plan for the week was to build a small roof section on the front of the church, repair the bed of a trailer and host VBS.  I began to wonder if some of the work may have been a dream, they were working so hard preparing.  They were awesome!  The VBS was very organized and well thought out, everything went very well and smooth.  We were able to have 3 days of VBS and even have the kids all over Sunday after church.  The roof and trailer were done too!  There was lots work going on this week but we also had plenty of time for fellowship, bible studies and worship.  What a great experience!

Tractor & Sewer Repair Update

“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 106:1

Karen and I want to thank you all for your prayers for when we sent out the message about the tractor repair.  Within 24 hours God (through you) blessed us with the funds to make immediate repairs.  We are humbled by your continued support of Rayo de Esperanza.

As you can see from these pictures, the new sewer line wasn’t a small project.  It seems like we dug for miles and miles.

Thanks to each of you!

Mike & Karen

Mother’s Day 2016

This is a picture of the most beautiful woman I know!  She is not only beautiful on the outside but I think she is more beautiful on the inside. This lady is my wife Karen, my best friend and the perfect mom for the children God has put us here to take care of.

We have a son in the states that turns 43 this month, because of her he has turned out awesome!

On Mothers Day in the states, which of course was Sunday, all the kids made sure to tell her happy Mothers Day. However, Tuesday the 10th was Mothers day here in Guatemala. Karen awoke to happy greetings and was left to sleep in. She had some things to do like make a skirt for Esperanza and a tie for Pedro. She said no worries it will be fast and it was! For lunch Maria fixed her a very nice shrimp, french fries and salad. Later that afternoon she had a function at Pedro and Esperanza’s school.

Without her there is no way I could do anything here. She keeps me grounded and able to continue every day with the work our Father as giving us to do here.

May 15th is our 40th Anniversary , I am praying for a way to take her away for a couple of days up to the highlands, please pray with me.

I love her more than words can express!
